Tied at 2: Wolf redemption

14 Oct

A warning to the readers- I did not watch game 4 as I declared a self-imposed TV ban due to my frustration watching the Brewers’ 1st inning meltdowns this post-season.  Randy Wolf was back on the bump after an outing that John Kruk called “the worst pitching performance of his career” when the Brewers lost 10-6 in game 4 of the 2011 NLDS.  Even Randy Wolf  was so affected that he didn’t eat or shower the following day.  Needless to say, Wolf came through in a big way, pitching 7 quality innings, leading the Brewers to a 2011 NLCS game 4 victory.  It seems so simple- have your pitcher throw a quality start (6 or more innings, 3 or less runs), let K-Rod shut down the 8th inning, Axford close the door in the 9th, ballgame.  So does my protest deserve credit for this win?  Probably not, but I went to sleep last night thinking it did…just a little 🙂
